About The Position

The Lead Business Analyst with Commercial Lines of P&C Domain Expertise will be responsible for engaging with Insurance IT, Business teams, and all internal and external stakeholders to determine business requirements and ensure development aligns with scope. This role serves as a domain Subject Matter Expert for Property & Casualty Insurance (Commercial Lines) and acts as a Discovery Program Lead for new initiatives, shaping problem statements, solution hypotheses, and delivery approaches. The analyst will lead the dissection of Epics into Features in collaboration with Product Management, Architecture, and Business stakeholders, and actively participate in opportunity assessment sessions, feasibility analysis, and early sizing. Key responsibilities also include configuring rating logic and business rules, documenting functional, UI, and product requirements, understanding product offerings, performing functional testing, demonstrating solutions, and providing detailed system walkthroughs and knowledge transfer to team members. The position requires an overall of 12+ years of IT experience, strong knowledge of P&C Insurance domain and products like Workers’ Compensation, Business Owners Policy, and Commercial Multi-Peril products, experience in implementing software solutions (including OneShield™ Policy Administration System), and working knowledge of XML/XSD, data integration, and testing practices. Required certifications include SAFe Agilist, CSM, or CSPO. This is a long-term, complete onsite position in Erie, PA.

Requirements

  • Overall 12+ years of IT experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of P&C Insurance domain and Products like Workers’ Compensation, Business Owners Policy, Commercial Multi‑Peril products.
  • Experience in implementing software solutions using established Insurance software products or customized software solutions.
  • Experience in implementing various business features and transactions: Policy Administration, Rating, Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance of various General insurance products.
  • Experience in OneShield™ Policy Administration System.
  • Working knowledge of XML/XSD, data integration concepts, and testing practices.
  • Certification required - SAFe Agilist, or CSM and CSPO.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Insurance IT, Business teams and all the internal and external stakeholders involved in implementations and rollout to determine business requirements, and to ensure the development is in line with the requirements and scope.
  • Serve as domain SME for Property & Casualty Insurance (Commercial Lines).
  • Act as Discovery Program Lead for new initiatives, shaping problem statements, solution hypotheses, and delivery approach.
  • Lead dissection of Epics into Features in collaboration with Product Management, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in opportunity assessment sessions, feasibility analysis, and early sizing to support funding and prioritization decisions.
  • Ensure discovery outcomes align with business value, regulatory considerations, architectural standards, and execution readiness.
  • Configure/ provide configuration of rating logic and business rules along with patterns of business logic.
  • Document and articulate all functional, UI, and product requirements using standard methods.
  • Understand the offerings and Products that will be implemented; understand what is currently available, supported and not supported and present the same.
  • Perform functional testing of the solution to troubleshoot and identify the issues quickly, report to respective stakeholders and track to closure during development and before deployment.
  • Demonstrate the solution, discuss scope changes to determine the impact analysis; engage with UAT users to assist in completing the UAT.
  • Provide detailed walkthroughs of the system requirement, closely work with technical associates on project development activities, review test cases and assist in closing QA cycle, and provide knowledge transfer to other team members.
  • Provide estimates for the activities; as part of change management inform the criticality, impact, risks, and priority.
  • Provide timely walkthroughs of the work items – documentation, configured products, solution; regularly update the complex and challenging scenarios.
