Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated Lead Banquet Server to join their team at the Rand Tower, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Minneapolis. This role involves leading the team in setting up, preparing, serving, and clearing banquet rooms for functions. Requirements

  • 2-4 years of food service experience, preferably Banquet service.
  • Experience in a 4-star, 5-star venue with synchronized service.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up for functions, including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and arranging table centerpieces.
  • Serve food by picking up food from the back hall and carrying trays to the function location.
  • Clear food from tables and bus tables.
  • Break down functions by putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
  • Clean the back hall and organize storerooms.
  • Set up AM or PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages.
  • Assist with event room setup according to meal period and table needs.
  • Perform food and beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring workstations are stocked.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests.
  • Remove dishes, glasses, silverware, or other items from tables/countertops and take them to the kitchen.
  • Clean and sanitize tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finished.
  • Explain menu item preparation, cooking methods, and ingredients.
  • Consider special requests and dietary issues made by the guest.
  • Provide general property information.
  • Offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests.
  • Interact with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guests.
  • Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service.
  • Address any guest issues promptly and with high concern.
  • Provide assistance to other event and restaurant staff as needed.
  • Maintain constant awareness of safety issues, such as broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons.
