About The Position

Boulder Country Club is looking for an experienced Lead Banquet Cook. In this role, you will lead line cooks, manage prep lists, coordinate with the events team, and make sure great-looking food gets out on time. You will also provide excellent customer service to both our staff and club members.

Requirements

1 to 4 years of experience cooking for busy, full-service restaurants or hotel events, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Excellent cooking skills (like grilling, roasting, and sautéing).
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.
Good communication skills.
Solid understanding of food safety and health rules.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, work in hot or cold kitchen conditions, handle wet and slippery floors, and lift or carry up to 40–50 pounds.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

A Culinary Degree or vocational training is a plus.
Food handler's card is required.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and guide kitchen staff during events.
Assign tasks and keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Oversee cooking, plating, and food presentation for banquets.
Make sure the team follows recipes and event orders exactly.
Monitor food safety (like checking temperatures and clean work areas), make sure older food is used first (FIFO), and keep the kitchen clean and organized.
Track food inventory, report when items are running low, and help plan menus.
Work closely with the dining room staff to make sure food service runs perfectly.
