About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer with deep distributed systems expertise to design, build, and operate large-scale, high-throughput backend services for mission-critical workloads. The role will architect core platforms used by other engineering teams, with a focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and clean engineering practices. The ideal candidate has strong computer science fundamentals and practical experience operating distributed systems at scale, and can navigate trade-offs among consistency, availability, and latency.

This is a full-time, direct W2 position that is 100% remote in the United States. Applicants may include U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and candidates seeking an H-1B transfer. Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time working on distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or a similar language.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput message systems such as Kafka.
• Experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based platforms in production.
• Exposure to service-mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Familiarity with chaos engineering practices and tools.
• Open-source contributions to relevant distributed systems projects.
