About The Position

Leidos Defense, Integration and Test Team, is seeking an Avionics Test Team Lead. We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including but not limited to kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms as well as RADAR and other surveillance and sensor technologies. Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer. We strive to have a variety of skillsets personally and across the team to meet the needs of our customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or an MS with 6+ years.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
  • Candidates must have experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
  • Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • US Citizenship is required and active secret clearance.
  • The position may require working outside in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • The position may require minimal travel for test events (approximately 4 weeks a year).

Nice To Haves

  • At least 8 years of experience with test planning and execution.
  • Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator)
  • Working knowledge of software languages Python, C, C++, C# and or firmware languages for Xilinx or Altera devices
  • Experience with Linux, Matlab, Labview, and WireShark
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management
  • Planning and executing demonstration tests and US Gov't test ranges/facilities

Responsibilities

  • Working directly with the customer and contractors to execute program requirements.
  • Creating, modifying, and executing test plans to satisfy program requirements.
  • Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
  • Coordinating test personnel and equipment across multiple events.
  • Work directly with OEM’s and internal MFG to reliably get product to market.
  • Briefing both internal and external parties on test results and data.
