About The Position

This is a regular, full-time position, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed. The Lead Assembler will assemble assigned work orders, including electrical components, subassemblies, products, and systems under minimal supervision. This role involves assisting other assemblers with various job duties and interacting with other departments to facilitate the movement of products into and out of the Manufacturing department.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand written instructions well in English.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to use a microscope.
  • Must possess basic math skills related to dimensions and quantities.
  • Must be able to read all assembly drawings.
  • Employees at this level must show a desire to learn new procedures, progress to higher skill levels, and help train and supervise employees as needed.
  • Must be able to use a mouse and keyboard to search and record data/information on a computer.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and background screening.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing background and/or prior experience with the assembly of miniature parts using a microscope.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble small/miniature connectors under a microscope using the correct procedures and tooling.
  • Document time spent, completed assembly quantities, completed processes, relevant comments, and any issues by inputting information in the ERP and writing information on the Process Data Sheet when assembling work orders.
  • Follow written instructions per assembly drawings and as instructed.
  • Understand the tooling practices and tooling differences used for various assemblies.
  • Train and support Assemblers in assembly, assembly procedures, assembly and subassembly verification, tooling use, tooling set-up, and inspection criteria.
  • Be knowledgeable in the thermal cycle process and other manufacturing processes as needed.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement within the Manufacturing department.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
