About The Position

Five Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered team. THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD. The Lead Architecture Technician will lead and coordinate a small team performing Solution and Reference Architecture development, analysis, management, and maintenance activities. This role involves collaborating with Government personnel, systems engineers, technical leads, and stakeholders to develop and maintain architecture products supporting Coast Guard C5I systems. The position requires developing and maintaining As-Is and To-Be Solution Architectures in accordance with the Coast Guard Enterprise Architecture (CGEA) Practice Manual, and utilizing TEARS/Cameo and other Government-approved architecture repositories and modeling environments. Analysis of engineering documentation, system requirements, technical manuals, and design artifacts will be crucial for developing and maintaining architecture products. The role also involves developing architecture products in accordance with DoDAF, DM2, CGEA, and applicable C5ISC Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) and Change Management policies, as well as analyzing and updating functional and allocated architecture and requirements baselines. Integration of architecture products with requirements maintained in Government Requirements Management Systems, including Launch Pad and other approved repositories, is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the Lead Architecture Technician will develop, maintain, and update Security and Information Delivery Infrastructure Reference (SIDIR) Architectures, develop architecture reports, technical documentation, templates, and other supporting deliverables, and provide technical guidance, quality assurance, and mentoring to team members. Communication of architecture status, risks, issues, recommendations, and project progress to Government stakeholders and project leadership is essential, along with preparing project status reports, level-of-effort estimates, and technical briefings. Participation in on-site and virtual technical meetings, engineering reviews, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and working groups is expected. Travel within CONUS is required to support customer meetings and program execution. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or another related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting Enterprise, Solution, or Reference Architecture development, analysis, management, or maintenance activities.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading technical teams or coordinating architecture or engineering efforts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing and maintaining Enterprise, Solution, and Reference Architecture products.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Solution Architecture and architecture baseline products.
  • Experience using System Architect, Cameo, TEARS, or comparable enterprise architecture modeling tools.
  • Working knowledge of DoDAF, DM2, architecture repositories, and configuration management principles.
  • Experience collaborating with Government customers, engineers, and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop technical documentation, reports, and briefings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment supporting both on-site and remote activities.
  • Ability to travel within CONUS as required.
  • Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or another related technical discipline.

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), UML, or SysML.
  • Professional certification such as TOGAF, INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, PMP, or other architecture or systems engineering certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architecture reports, technical documentation, templates, and other supporting deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance, quality assurance, and mentoring to architecture team members.
  • Communicate architecture status, risks, issues, recommendations, and project progress to Government stakeholders and project leadership.
