About The Position

My Three Dogs HWY 17 is seeking passionate dog lovers to join their team as Lead Animal Care Technicians. This role requires a conscientious, detail-oriented individual with a flexible schedule and a desire to lead others. The position involves setting operational standards, training staff, taking accountability for the facility in management's absence, supervising dog playgroups, managing cleanliness, providing daily care for pets, problem-solving, and working collaboratively with team members. Excellent customer service skills and a love for animals are essential.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Dependable, present, and focused.
  • Comfort with computers and technology, including learning and operating kennel software.
  • Ability to work well with others to complete duties and provide excellent guest care.
  • Ability to communicate properly, promptly, and effectively with team members, management, and pet parents.
  • Flexible schedule, willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Keen observation skills to ensure guest safety and comfort, and to report issues.
  • Previous pet care/animal experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must love dogs and be comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
  • Ability to stand/work upright for multiple hours at a time, in all weather types.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain active throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set the standard for optimum operation of the center and lead the team by example.
  • Train staff on their roles and provide necessary advice and resources.
  • Take charge of the facility in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Communicate necessary information up through the chain of leadership, including notes on dog behavior, supply needs, and potential incidents.
  • Oversee dog playgroups, managing their behavior and playtime.
  • Learn animal behavior to provide a safe environment, including studying canine body language and making dogs comfortable.
  • Manage the cleanliness of kennels and play areas, maintaining high cleaning standards.
  • Clean toys, wash dishes, mop floors, vacuum hair, and handle pet messes.
  • Feed pets according to instructions and ensure all dogs have fresh water, clean bedding, and a comfortable overnight space.
  • Administer medication according to veterinary instructions, if applicable.
  • Use common sense to solve problems related to dogs in care.
  • Work with initiative to take on various tasks within the center.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service to pet parents.
  • Follow established safety protocols to ensure a safe and fun environment for pets and staff.
