As a Lead Analyst - Business Systems you will act independently under consultative direction. Formulate, define, and document system/applications objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify complex systems/applications that support the actuarial valuations and/or investments divisions. Prepare detailed specifications from which system/applications will be developed and maintained.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in software development, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven experience leading requirements efforts across large, complex, multi-team initiatives.
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs, including integration patterns, API documentation, and tools like Postman.
  • Expertise in writing user stories across full-stack applications (UI and backend/API layers).
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks, using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and bridge communication between business and technical teams.
  • Deep experience documenting system requirements, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, multi-platform architectures, and system integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, guide teams through ambiguity, and drive outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading within authentication, identity management, or security domains (SSO, OAuth, MFA).
  • Background in financial services, particularly defined contribution or retail investment platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and decision support.
  • Experience establishing BA standards, frameworks, or governance models.
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG).
  • Experience writing acceptance criteria, BDD-style specifications, or leading refinement sessions.
  • Prior hands-on experience as a QA engineer, developer, or similar technical role.
  • Experience supporting production environments and leading issue resolution efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements strategy and execution across the authentication value stream, ensuring alignment from epics to detailed user stories.
  • Guide and mentor Business Systems Analysts, establishing best practices for requirements documentation, analysis, and delivery.
  • Partner with product owners, architects, and engineering leaders to shape solutions and influence technical design decisions.
  • Gather and document complex business and technical requirements in an Agile environment, translating them into clear, actionable user stories.
  • Oversee and contribute to detailed API requirements (request/response structures, data mappings, error handling, integration workflows) for Java/Spring Boot services.
  • Define and validate front-end requirements for React-based web applications, ensuring a cohesive and user-centered experience.
  • Drive creation of flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and technical documentation for authentication and identity management systems.
  • Facilitate breakdown of complex initiatives into scalable, well-defined features and stories in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and traceability of requirements across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Lead cross-team collaboration to resolve dependencies, risks, and ambiguities.
  • Analyze systems and processes to identify strategic improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct impact analysis, support production issue triage, and guide teams through complex troubleshooting scenarios.
