About The Position

A Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician serves as a working supervisor responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of mechanics to perform safe, efficient, and high-quality repairs on aircraft. This role requires a balance of hands-on technical expertise and leadership skills, acting as the key interface between maintenance personnel and management.

Requirements

  • Holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65 Subpart D.
  • Possesses a minimum of six years of experience working as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician.
  • Possesses a minimum of four years working on business aviation aircraft.
  • Possesses a minimum of two years of experience on Embraer Prator/Legacy aircraft.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the PepsiCo Aviation Department Policies and Procedures Manual, CFRs, and other regulations applicable to the aviation maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in people skills when interacting with others, both inside and outside the department.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others—both conversationally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily activities of maintenance personnel, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and mentoring junior mechanics to ensure high-quality, efficient work practices.
  • Perform and supervise complex troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and modifications of airframe and engine systems in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer manuals.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, estimate repair times and material needs, and track progress to minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are documented, signed off, and compliant with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, including strict adherence to Safety Management Systems, environmental protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections, check aircraft components for defects, and ensure the airworthiness of aircraft before release.
  • Interact with vendors, suppliers, and customers regarding aircraft status, parts ordering, and project updates.
