About The Position

Mirakl is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to join their AI team and lead the AI transformation within a strategic business domain, such as Marketing or Finance. This role involves combining deep AI engineering expertise with product and business understanding to identify high-impact opportunities, define roadmaps, and deliver measurable outcomes. The Lead AI Engineer will drive architecture decisions, engineering excellence, and AI adoption across teams and stakeholders. This is a permanent position based in Boston, requiring 4 days on-site per week. Mirakl is at the forefront of marketplace innovation and is integrating Generative AI and AI Agents into its core product strategy, building the next generation of commerce software.

Requirements

7+ years in Software Engineering, ML Engineering, or Applied AI
Strong experience with LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, evaluation, and production systems
Ability to influence Product and Business decisions
Proven leadership on complex cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

Own AI Strategy for Your Domain: Define the AI vision and roadmap for your domain, identify high-value opportunities with Product Managers and business leaders, and prioritize investments based on business impact.
Lead AI System Development: Design and build production-grade AI systems, drive architecture decisions, and ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Drive Adoption & Business Impact: Work closely with end users, measure adoption and outcomes, and accelerate AI transformation across your domain.
Establish Technical Excellence: Promote best practices for evaluation, testing, guardrails, and observability, review designs, mentor engineers, and raise the quality bar across initiatives.
Grow AI Capability: Mentor AI Engineers and Agent Builders, share knowledge and reusable components, and build AI expertise within your organization.
