About The Position

Paul Davis is seeking a Lead Accountant to oversee and maintain all accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations. This role involves producing monthly financial statements, updating and maintaining financial accounting software (Quickbooks Online), and assisting the management team with job costing, project Profit & Loss statements, and financial analysis. The Lead Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting functions for home improvement and remodeling projects, handle all job costing and billing, prepare monthly financial reports and project forecasts, maintain all accounting, computer, and financial records, reconcile project budgets, and monitor profit margins. This position requires maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting with a remodeling/home improvement/construction company
  • Proficient with QBO, MS Excel, MS Word, other software
  • Must be process oriented
  • Driven to join our team and add value through positivity and dedication
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage time, and be extremely organized
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Be willing and able to work full time in office Monday through Friday

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain all accounting functions - GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, produce monthly financial statements, etc.
  • Update and maintain financial accounting software - Quickbooks online
  • Assist the management team in job costing, project P/L and financial analysis
  • Manage day to day accounting functions for home improvement and remodeling projects
  • Handle all job costing and billing
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and project forecasts
  • Maintain all accounting, computer and financial records
  • Reconcile project budgets and monitor profit margins
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Assist other team members when needed and foster a positive working relationship with other departments.
  • Possess strong listening and communication skills, ask questions and monitor various aspects of the business to detect problems
