About The Position

Alpha Omega is seeking a Lead 508 Compliance Specialist in support of our 287(g) Program customer. In this role, this individual will manage the end-to-end accessibility remediation lifecycle for 287(g) program documentation, serving as a gatekeeper for digital inclusion and ensuring public-facing Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) comply with Section 508.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience overseeing aspects of a project, leading a team on large projects or a significant segment of large and complex projects; ability to analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
  • Experience providing application systems analysis and developing long- and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities for necessary support resources (e.g., the MOA Tracker and SharePoint compliance-tracking systems).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the relevant functional area — Section 508 compliance, accessibility remediation, or document/records management.
  • Public Trust Clearance required.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro (specifically the accessibility toolset, tagging, reading order, and alt-text application).
  • Strong understanding of Section 508 standards and the ability to interpret automated scan results to perform manual remediation.
  • Highly organized with experience managing Excel trackers and SharePoint lists; ability to audit data to identify gaps (e.g., empty 508 columns).
  • Ability to work effectively with government POCs and internal program leads to ensure document accuracy and timely publication.
  • Some college credits required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming MOAs and execute a multi-stage remediation process using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Perform iterative scanning to identify and rectify accessibility barriers, ensuring all documents meet federal 508 standards.
  • Conduct parallel data quality checks on MOAs to ensure document content accurately reflects program records before finalization.
  • Upon successful remediation, generate web-accessible versions of MOAs and facilitate the creation of hyperlinks for the public-facing program website.
  • Maintain real-time status in the MOA Tracker. Proactively identify and prioritize remediation for “Active” agencies while maintaining an ongoing schedule for “Terminated/Inactive” agency records.
  • Regularly pull SharePoint lists to manage the queue, ensuring the “508 Compliance” status is accurately reflected for all program MOAs.
  • Manage the secure distribution of compliant MOAs to government POCs in consistent, manageable batches.
  • Coordinate with federal leads to receive validated files and integrate final URLs into the central MOA tracker.
  • Manage the document publication cadence, ensuring files are turned around in a reasonable timeframe despite shifting volume, and providing status updates to management on publication progress.
