About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on, creatively driven Lead 2D Artist to support the Creative Agency Lead in managing the 2D and motion production stream for our studio's game portfolio. This role is responsible for guiding a team of illustrators, graphic designers, and motion designers to produce high-impact marketing and user acquisition assets—including key art, social media content, motion graphics, and performance ads—for PC, console, and mobile platforms. As the discipline's primary reference, you will oversee visual design, layout, branding, and motion design. You will balance hands-on creative execution with leadership duties, ensuring the team maintains high standards of quality, brand consistency, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Portfolio or showreel demonstrating expertise in 2D design, illustration, and motion design.
  • 5+ years in graphic design, motion design, illustration, or marketing art production.
  • 3+ years in a Lead or Senior role involving team guidance, mentorship, and production oversight (ideally within a team of 5–10 people).
  • Expert Proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects).
  • Mastery of visual design (typography, layout, color theory) and motion design (timing, rhythm, pacing).
  • Experience with tools such as Airtable or Jira.
  • Proven ability to manage complex versioning, localization, and platform-specific formatting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse creative and marketing disciplines.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to remain "hands-on" while performing leadership duties.
  • Fluent written and verbal English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day 2D/motion production stream, including task prioritization, blocker resolution, and timeline management.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and provide actionable, constructive feedback to help artists grow their technical and creative skills.
  • Define workflows, naming conventions, and file structures; maintain documentation to streamline onboarding and project hand-offs.
  • Partner with the Creative Agency Lead to monitor team workload, morale, and performance risks.
  • Lead production on high-priority or complex assets, utilizing an expert-level command of design and motion principles.
  • Create and oversee polished visuals with a focus on visual hierarchy, typography, readability, and brand consistency.
  • Produce and guide high-quality motion assets that enhance communication, energy, and visual appeal.
  • Solve creative and technical issues related to animation setup, file exports, versioning, and platform-specific constraints.
  • Review all 2D and motion assets to ensure they meet marketing objectives and adhere to established art direction.
  • Provide precise guidance on composition, layout, color, timing, and animation flow.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Project Manager to assess briefs, estimate production effort, and identify potential risks early in the process.
  • Work closely with the Video Lead, Marketing, and User Acquisition teams to integrate assets effectively across campaigns.
  • Translate stakeholder feedback into actionable creative tasks, acting as a technical and creative bridge between the Agency and its internal clients.
