About The Position

Plan loads out of specific geographical region; review capacity and details of loads in order to efficiently plan available capacity; work with United and hauling partners to cover all tonnage. This is an on-site position in Jacksonville, Florida. The position is able to work Virtual for candidates with experience that do not live in the Jacksonville, FL area.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of MS Word; MS Excel and AS 400.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor van operators for next assignment
  • Plan household goods shipments originating in a specific geographic location
  • Analyze loads for viability based on load dates, delivery dates, line haul and revenue per mile
  • Assign van operators to shipments according to factors such as: origin and destination, weight of shipment and customer requirements
  • Monitor deviation from planned size of shipment and expected delivery time
  • Equitably distribute work and revenue among van operator fleet
  • Investigate late arrivals due to equipment failure and reports to necessary parties involved
  • Direct activities of van operators by phone, e-mail and other tracking measures
  • Confer with move coordinators to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, or delayed household shipments
  • Establish delivery routes for most advantageous use of time, fuel and driver efficiency
  • Build relationships with van operators, ensuring a positive work environment and overall retention of driver workforce
