About The Position

Sheppard Pratt is opening a new General Adult inpatient unit, providing specialized treatment for adults age 18 and older with a variety of mental health conditions. The program uses an intensive multidisciplinary approach that includes individual therapy, milieu therapy, and process-oriented, experiential, and psychoeducational group therapies. The Social Worker provides clinical social work services in support of patients’ primary therapists and treatment teams, assesses psychosocial needs, delivers therapy, and contributes to discharge and aftercare planning.

Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Current Maryland State Social Work or Counseling license (LCSW-C, LMSW, LCPC, or LGPC) at appointment and continuously while in the position.
At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or similar clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient's primary therapist and treatment team.
Interview patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress.
Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions to help patients and families resolve personal and environmental problems that limit psychosocial functioning.
Participate as a member of the treatment team.
Develop and assist with the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.
