About The Position

The Mechanic is responsible for comprehending and utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, and work specification instructions in order to repair or replace machinery components related to LCACs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Certificate from a college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical role preferred.
Industrial and/or marine advanced mechanical experience preferred: Journeyman 1: 1-3 years, Journeyman 2: 3-5 years, Journeyman 3: 5+ years
2+ years Navy ship repair experience (shipyard, contractor, government)
Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals to weld metals
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and able to multitask
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines
Must be able to work independently
Understanding of Ship repair industry
Must be DBIDS/TWIC credential eligible
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Nice To Haves

LCAC/SSC experience preferred

Responsibilities

Comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, and work specification instructions to repair or replace machinery components related to LCACs.
Weld metals using blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals.
Work independently.
Perform duties in open-air conditions, including noisy, hot, and cold environments, as well as in an office-controlled environment.
Work in confined spaces.
Wear hearing, eye, head protection, and proper PPE as required.
Perform tasks that may involve standing on various surfaces and at different angles, bending over, crouching, climbing ladders, and maneuvering over obstructions.
Lift up to 50lbs.
Travel as required.
