About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Layout Technician - 2nd Shift at our Troy, IL facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $25.44 per hour, plus a $0.50 cent shift differential. Employees follow a wage progression schedule and will reach $27.40 after 12 months of employment. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

Minimum of one (1) year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience reading blueprints
Prior experience with calibration equipment such as calipers.
Proficient with computer application systems, such as SAP.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
Ability to be self- driven
Must be able to move, position, and/or lift parts or boxes weighing 10lbs-50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Operate sheet metal fabrication machines
Read shop orders
Read and understand engineering drawings
Perform quality checks
Use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions
Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)
Run various machine operations (brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing & hand sheering)
