Lay Coach - Softball Head Coach (2026-2027 School Year)
About The Position
Tavares High School is seeking a Lay Coach for the Softball Head Coach position for the 2026-2027 School Year. The school is located near downtown Tavares, known as "America's Seaplane City," with a seaplane base on Lake Dora. Tavares High School serves approximately 1,500 students and 80 teachers. The mission of Tavares High School is to prepare students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners who will make positive contributions to society. Supplements for cleared and hired lay coaches are paid as a one-time payment upon completion of activity and satisfactory inventory, after a sport/season has concluded. Applicants must apply and be eligible for Athletic Coaching certification through the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE). Additional costs for certification, fingerprinting, and drug testing will be borne by the applicant prior to hire.
Requirements
- Apply and be eligible for Athletic Coaching certification through the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE).
- Pay associated costs for FLDOE Certification Fees ($75.00), Fingerprinting ($82.00), and Drug Test Fee ($20.00).
- Obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (cost varies).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Head Coach for the Softball team.
- Ensure completion of activity and satisfactory inventory after the sport/season has concluded for payment processing.
