About The Position

This role involves advising clients on Wills, estate and succession planning, including complex estate planning structures. The lawyer will prepare Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianships, and associated estate planning documentation. Responsibilities include advising executors, beneficiaries, and families on probate, Letters of Administration, and deceased estate administration, as well as managing estate assets, liabilities, distributions, and other issues. The role also entails advising on family provision claims, Will disputes, and contested estates, including negotiation and litigation. Advising on superannuation, testamentary trusts, and other relevant estate planning issues is also part of the role. The lawyer will manage their own matters with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining strong, empathetic client relationships.

Requirements

  • Wills & Estates Lawyer with 4+ years’ PQE.
  • A law degree from an accredited Australian or New Zealand university, underpinned by strong academic records.
  • Solid experience across Wills & Estates, ideally including estate planning, probate and deceased estate administration.
  • Strong drafting, technical and client management skills, with the confidence to manage matters autonomously.
  • A personable and empathetic approach, with a genuine interest in developing their career within Wills & Estates law.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in estate litigation and contested estates will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on family provision claims, Will disputes and contested estates, including negotiation and estate litigation matters.
  • Advising on superannuation, testamentary trusts and other issues relevant to comprehensive estate planning.
  • Managing your own matters with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining strong, empathetic relationships with clients.
