In this role, you will be the primary architect of integrated turf and plant health services, promoting landscape vitality through expert fertilization, pest control, and disease management.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Alberta turfgrass species, common weeds, and pests; understanding of provincial pesticide regulations and environmental protection standards.
  • Proficiency in calibrating and operating application equipment (e.g., backpack sprayers); digital documentation for service tracking (e.g., Aspire, SiteDocs).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, perform outdoor manual labor in varying weather conditions, and maintain a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assess site conditions to identify weeds, insects, and diseases while implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
  • Mix, measure, and apply products using calibrated equipment, ensuring accurate coverage and compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Maintain detailed service records and ensure all activities comply with the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act.
  • Provide supplemental support to maintenance crews, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal clean-ups during non-application periods.
  • Transition to comprehensive snow and ice management from November through April, maintaining a flexible schedule for Alberta’s winter weather.
