About The Position

The Lawn Care Specialist maintains the facility’s exterior grounds and helps ensure an attractive appearance inside and out. The role covers lawns, shrubs, walkways, landscaping, litter control, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and watering, as well as use of the materials and equipment needed for grounds maintenance. The specialist maintains the areas at the front and back of the facility, including outbuildings and other assigned areas. The position also responds to radio and pager calls for cleaning or maintenance and may assist with special assignments such as cleaning up excess water, unloading or stocking supplies, boarding windows, and completing emergency preparedness procedures. The role requires compliance with property and departmental safety and security standards.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Knowledge of methods for maintaining the inside and outside grounds of a facility.
Knowledge of grounds maintenance, including lawns, shrubs, walkways, litter control, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and watering.
Knowledge of materials, machines, and processes used to ensure a quality appearance inside and out.

Nice To Haves

One year of previous grounds maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain front and back facility areas, including outbuildings, landscaping, litter control, and other assigned areas.
Fertilize, water, mow, and edge lawns.
Trim and maintain shrubs and plant material, regardless of location.
Remove waste material.
Maintain the exterior of the building to present an attractive appearance.
Respond to radio and pager calls for cleaning or maintenance of a designated area.
Complete special assignments, which may include cleaning up excess water, unloading and stocking supplies, boarding windows, and completing emergency preparedness procedures.
Comply with property and departmental safety and security standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
