Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age
  • Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs: 1. Certified State law enforcement recruit training. 2. Certified County law enforcement recruit training. 3. Federal law enforcement training. 4. Programs approved by the Director.
  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931 F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)).
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.
  • Must be able to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned Post/duties.

  • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
  • Pass a 12-panel drug test and pass all future random drug testing.
  • Correctable, vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level. A hearing aid may be used to.
  • Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions.
  • Maturity in conduct behavior and attitude.
  • Ability to take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
  • Alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct. Ability to recognize, respond and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations.
  • Strong moral character. Must possess high standards and be truthful.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing in English.
  • Courtesy in inter-person relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel.
  • LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations that are issued on behalf of DOTA. Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs that are required to attend a court proceeding.
  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with onsite personnel and public sector partners when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, restricted areas, parking locations, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, permits, and/or authorizations for entry into designated areas while following post orders and applicable location procedures.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of observations, incidents, and/or response actions, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, law enforcement, and/or other authorized personnel as needed.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
