About The Position
The Law Clerk provides legal research and drafts legal memoranda, orders, and decisions for circuit court judges. The role supports judges in issuing rulings, orders, and decisions efficiently and effectively. The Law Clerk may also assist judges by acting as a bailiff, bringing up juries, and monitoring jury deliberations.
Requirements
- Be a current resident of Wisconsin at the time of application.
- Possess a professional law degree.
- Meet the minimum qualifications at the time of filing the application.
Responsibilities
- Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda, orders, and decisions for circuit court judges to review and sign.
- Assist circuit court judges by acting as a bailiff.
- Bring up juries and monitor jury deliberations.
- Perform similar tasks on an as-needed basis.
