About The Position

Denver Water’s Office of General Counsel provides all of Denver Water’s legal services. The Office of General Counsel consists of nine attorneys who are engaged in the areas of natural resources, environmental, public lands, water, contracts, real estate, business, employment, municipal law, and civil litigation. This intern will join the Office of General Counsel and may be called upon to answer questions involving any of the areas of law. They’ll write responses to attorneys which may take the form of a memorandum, correspondence, a portion of a brief, response to discovery, or other documents. Law clerks may attend meetings with clients, depositions, hearings, trials and meetings of the Board of Water Commissioners.

Requirements

  • Second year of law school in Spring 2027.
  • High-level research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability/desire to work independently.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities
