Amentum is seeking a Law Clerk I to join our dynamic team to support the Enforcement and Affirmative Litigation Branch at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC. As a Law Clerk I, you will be responsible for conducting first-level document review and fact-finding in Relativity, performing QC review, reviewing documents for privilege, and assisting with privilege logs. You will also assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, handle multiple assignments with varying deadlines and conflicting priorities, and plan and organize work carefully to meet stage requirements. Assignments may include preparing draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and memorandums of law; supporting attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and trial binders; and assisting with trial support. You will also review or edit briefs and other case documents under tight deadlines, correct erroneous or incomplete citations, references, assertions, and quotations, and work closely with attorneys in revising documents leading up to filing deadlines, monitoring and addressing last-minute changes. Additionally, you will draft, revise, and finalize intricate tables of authorities, advise attorneys on the accuracy and relevancy of citations and references, and propose reliable additions of relevant citations. You will also conduct legal research to determine the status of cited cases (affirmed, reversed, or questioned).
