Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required, completed by the start date.
• Active member of the Utah Bar.
• Knowledge of FDA Law and Policy.
• Significant teaching experience.
• Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
• If a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
• Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
• Must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course on FDA Law and Policy, covering its history, legal and policy framework, and regulation of various products (pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, foods, cosmetics, animal products, tobacco).
• Cover topics such as product premarket approval pathways, postmarket compliance, human clinical trials, importation of FDA regulated products, and FDA's enforcement under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and related regulations.
• Address student questions related to the class outside of scheduled lecture times.
