About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a part-time Laundry Technician for day shifts at Hutchinson Village, a 65-bed senior skilled nursing facility providing long-term and post-acute care. The role performs day-to-day laundry tasks to maintain a clean healthcare environment, working independently or as part of a team and following location-specific processes, policies, and infection prevention guidelines. The position is scheduled for 12 hours per week. Work hours may vary according to patient needs and may include overtime, call or backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30–50 pounds and push or pull up to 500 pounds on flat surfaces or ramps.
• Ability to remain on one's feet for most of the shift and perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Depending on location, a valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Collect and sort laundry, including contaminated laundry, following infection prevention guidance and healthcare laundry standards.
• Handle, store, and distribute clean laundry according to location-specific processes and policies.
• Depending on location, collect dirty linens and personal clothing from wards, rooms, and medical offices and distribute clean, disinfected linens.
• Depending on location, wash, dry, and fold linens; sort and fold clothing; and label items appropriately.
• Depending on location, store and secure laundry supplies and equipment.
• Use equipment, methods, and techniques appropriately, including safe handling of chemicals and water temperature.
• Use or wear required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean environment in the healthcare organization.
