About The Position

Performs a variety of duties to meet Home Office laundry requirements including washing, drying, ironing and repairing. Works with some supervision and is responsible for making a minimal range of decisions, escalating to manager when necessary and updating manager on a regular basis.

Requirements

High School Diploma Or GED - Required
Previous laundry experience - Required
Demonstrated experience working independently. Experience must include identifying and resolving problems where independent decision-making and initiative were demonstrated - Required
Demonstrated knowledge of detergents and cleaning agents and their use. - Required
Demonstrated commercial mechanical ability sufficient to operate laundry equipment. - Required
Demonstrated ability in sewing and garment repair. - Required
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management. - Required
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions. - Required

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of basic computer with the ability to retrieve emails, send emails and access the intranet homepage - Preferred

Responsibilities

Manage and operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment to ensure efficient processing of laundry items.
Receive, sort, and classify laundry items based on type and color, ensuring proper handling and care for different fabrics.
Load machines with laundry, select appropriate washing and drying cycles, and monitor the process to ensure quality results.
Fold, press (hand iron and or utilize press machine), hang, and package clean laundry items for delivery or storage, ensuring they meet presentation standards.
Perform minor repairs to clothing including but not limited to minor sewing (buttons, hems) and use of iron on patch material.
Perform routine maintenance on laundry equipment, including cleaning filters and reporting any mechanical issues to management.
Adhere to safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of chemicals and maintaining a clean work environment.
Informs supervisor of equipment problems and other issues.
Provide excellent service to customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns regarding laundry services.
Assists Housekeeper with light cleaning duties as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
