About The Position

This role is for a Laundry Truck Driver within Yellowstone National Park. The primary responsibility is to deliver clean linens to various locations within the park and pick up soiled linens to return to the laundry facility. This position is crucial for the day-to-day administrative functions that ensure the park operates smoothly. The job involves operating commercial cargo vehicles, including tractor-trailers, on mountain roads, often at night. Compliance with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies is essential. The role also requires maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting any mechanical issues.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current class A CDL with air brake endorsement, and a current DOT physical qualification.
  • Must complete a Xanterra Driver Qualification Checklist
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work unsupervised while delivering excellent service and exercising good judgment in unexpected situations.
  • General mechanical skills, including routine vehicle maintenance checks and identifying problems during vehicle operation.
  • Mountain and night driving skills.
  • Knowledge of state and national traffic laws.
  • Must have a safe driving record.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting, reaching outward and above the shoulder for up to 6 hours per shift.
  • Repetitive motion of arms, wrist, and hands for up to 7 hours per shift.
  • Requires occasional climbing, crawling, and squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to push or pull wheeled items weighing up to 400 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to work in an environment of 30º to 50º up to 7 hours a day.
  • Must be able to drive for up to 3 hours at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent service to laundry customers, interacting with guests and location personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • Operates commercial cargo vehicles up to 62-foot tractor/trailer, including night driving on 2-lane mountain roads.
  • Delivers clean linens to locations promptly and accurately according to shipping orders. Unloads clean linens to the dock and loads dirty linen from the dock, and returns it to the laundry.
  • Complies with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies regarding vehicle inspection and safety and driving time limits. Completes all logs and forms according to company policy.
  • Reports all truck mechanical problems to the Laundry Operations Manager, Assistance Manager Laundry Operation and Service Center per company policy.
  • Keeps vehicles clean at all times, inside and out.
  • Maintains a safe work area according to laundry policy.
  • Assists in special projects as assigned, including stripping of rooms during location closings.
  • Meets or exceeds production and quality standards.
