About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper care of all hotel linens and towels. This position is responsible for cleaning, storing, and delivering the Hotel and Food Services linens. The Laundry Attendant will work as part of the housekeeping team, ensuring that all laundry tasks are completed efficiently and professionally. The Laundry Attendant shall always strive to provide exceptional service to internal and external guests. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP’s Culture & Core Values.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
  • Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to operate laundry equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the highest quality of laundered items.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain laundry records.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of proper laundry handling and stain removal techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
  • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
  • Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
  • Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
  • Receive soiled linens and sort articles by kind, color, and degree of soil.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and distribute hotel linens and towels according to established procedures and standards.
  • Clean and store linens in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotel’s laundry and linen needs are met.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  • Ensure necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to the wash cycle.
  • Keep all supplies, cleaning materials, and clean linens secure, free of clutter and hazards, and in assigned storage areas where others can find them and prevent losses or damage.
  • Inspect, plan, and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
  • Use appropriate stain removal techniques to treat stained linens and clothing effectively.
  • Inspect laundered items to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from damage or defects before returning them to the appropriate areas.
  • Record all damaged or stained items.
  • Keep track of linen and towel inventory levels, report shortages, and assist in ordering new supplies as needed.
  • Assist in identifying and handling lost or abandoned guest clothing, ensuring proper documentation and communication with the front desk.
  • Adhere to strict hygiene and safety guidelines when handling soiled linens and using cleaning chemicals.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to maintain a clean and organized laundry area.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly fulfilling guest requests for additional linens or clothing and handling any laundry-related inquiries.
  • Follow eco-friendly laundry practices, including appropriate use of chemicals and water conservation.
  • Maintain accurate records of the laundry processed, linen inventory, and any laundry-related incidents.
  • Comply with all hotel policies and procedures related to laundry operations and general hotel guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
