About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the hotel's laundry operations during evening/pm shifts and in accordance with the policy and brand standards.

Requirements

• Completion of High School Education or equivalent.
• Knowledge on how to properly use and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical usage and safety.
• Must be able to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Must have a pleasant, outgoing personality.
• Must be honest, reliable and dependable and practice good hygiene.
• Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skill.
• Must demonstrate behaviour consistent with core values.
• Must be able to stand, walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to push / pull / lift 50 pounds.
• Bending posture frequently while sorting linens.

Nice To Haves

• WHMIS training, an asset.
• Previous hotel experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for sorting, washing, drying, pressing and folding of all linen.
• Responsible for safe operation of all Laundry equipment.
• Maintain inventory of laundry chemicals.
• Handling/Inventory of all re-wash and discards.
• Inventory of all linen as needed.
• Maintain proper cleanliness and orderliness of laundry area including store rooms.
• Collection and processing of recyclable items.
• Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisors Management Team.
