About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for cleaning, folding, pressing, and sorting Hotel linen to the quality and safety standards set by Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino. This role also involves inventory control, counting, and documentation. The position requires working collaboratively with other Hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service and quality performance. The attendant must maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to health and safety policies, and provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times. Consistent and regular attendance is essential, and the ability to work any shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime is necessary. The role also includes performing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong guest service and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Valid Washington State Drivers’ License may be required to use company vehicles and must be insurable through STRC’s insurance provider.
  • Ability to secure and maintain STATE OR TRIBAL Gaming License.

  • Six (6) months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational/experience requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, folding, pressing, and sorting Hotel linen to quality and safety standards.
  • Inventory control, counting, and documentation of linens.
  • Working collaboratively with other Hotel departments.
  • Washing, drying, folding, and storing linens, including sheets, pillowcases, bedspreads, draperies, towels, mats, shower curtains, and blankets.
  • Keeping count of laundered items daily and noting this on the housekeeper sheet when requested.
  • Checking linens daily for wear or stains and keeping count of rejected linens.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day care of laundry equipment and advising management on maintenance and repairs.
  • Assisting Hotel Housekeeping as assigned.
  • Loading and unloading washers and dryers.
  • Separating terry from linen and washing them separately.
  • Ensuring all linen and terry is free of stains and tears prior to washing.
  • Cleaning dryer lint screens daily and as needed.
  • Cleaning the exterior of machines daily.
  • Sweeping and mopping the laundry floor daily.
  • Cleaning the entire laundry area once per week.
  • Maintaining laundry carts and racks by cleaning bi-monthly.
  • Providing the highest quality of service to guests.
  • Maintaining current health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies and proper labeling of hazardous supplies.
  • Maintaining work area in a good and safe state of repair.
  • Maintaining clean, safe, and well-stocked areas.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
