Laundry Attendant
About The Position
The job involves: Receiving and processing new and used laundry stock, sorting laundry, loading and unloading washers and dryers, feeding laundry into folding machines, collecting and storing clean linens, working with laundry cleaning chemicals and assorted fabric types, working in warm and humid conditions, handling soiled linens. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, move equipment and other items up to 50 pounds as needed. Adjusting quickly to change on the job, moving from task to task. Following instructions concerning machine operations. Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties. Working independently and as one team that supports and helps one another. Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.
Requirements
- 3 – 6 months experience in a high volume, fast paced laundry environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Knowledge of WHMIS and the ability to follow health and safety guidelines
- The ability to successfully pass physical pre-placement assessment
