About The Position

We are seeking a Laundry Attendant Lead who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together while caring deeply about our brand. The ideal Laundry Attendant Lead will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. The purpose of the Laundry Attendant Lead is to be responsible for assisting the Laundry Manager in leading and coordinating the cleaning and delivery/pickup process of hotel linens to ensure guests and hosts experience a clean hotel. This is to be done all in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six to 12 months previous commercial laundry experience preferred
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check

  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees

  • Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
  • Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces
  • This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
  • This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors
  • This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved methods
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk; climb and descend indoor and outdoor stairs
  • Ability to move, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist

Responsibilities

  • Keeps Laundry Attendants and Drivers focused on work at hand and maintain productivity in the absence of the Laundry Manager
  • Performs opening and or closing procedures, arm/disarm alarm system lock/unlock doors
  • Safely operates commercial washers, dryers and folding machines
  • Loads and unloads washing machines and dryers
  • Operates the folders and other laundry equipment in accordance with the product specifications
  • Cleans up machines and surrounding areas as necessary per shift
  • Complies with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Operates laundering equipment to ensure safe and thorough cleaning and pressing, keeping work area clean and safe
  • Helps ensure laundry operations run smoothly by alerting the manager when equipment stops working properly
  • Sorts out all linen that needs to be done
  • Pushes and pulls linen carts that are full of linen
  • Participates in monthly linen inventory
  • Must be able to function in a team atmosphere
  • Completes other duties as assigned
