About The Position

The Laundry Assistant performs day-to-day laundry services to meet patients’ laundry needs in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role involves handling laundry from collection through distribution, providing customer service, supporting patient evacuation when needed, and working productively with an interdisciplinary team. The position requires dependable attendance, sound judgment, professional conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior health care experience is preferred.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Be knowledgeable about practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
• Perform proficiently in applicable competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
• Adhere to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day laundry functions, including collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing laundry.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Use concentration, reasoning skills, and good judgment.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Follow applicable laws, regulations, facility guidelines, departmental programs and procedures, and company policies.
• Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and others.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
• Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
