About The Position

Provides clean linens and personal clothing to residents and the facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
• High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to do repeated pushing and pulling of laundry carts, and lifting or carrying a minimum of 40 pounds throughout an eight hour shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently throughout the course of an eight hour shift.
• Operates laundry machines.

Responsibilities

• Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
• Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
• Collects all soiled linens and clothing.
• Properly washes and dries linens, personal clothing for the residents, and other items for the facility.
• Mends repairable items, folds, and replaces items in appropriate storage areas.
• Ensures that a sufficient supply of clean linens are available for all shifts.
• Responsible for proper care of laundry items.
• Responsible for proper operations and cleaning of all laundry equipment in a safe manner.
• Performs laundry functions in accordance with the Infection Control Program and understands the Right To Know Program.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
