About The Position
Laundry Aide – 32 Hours/Week | $18.40–$19.90/hr + Weekend Differential Location: Fairmount Homes – Ephrata, PA Shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM | Every other Saturday & one Sunday a month Join a team that feels like family. As a Laundry Aide, you’ll help create a clean, comfortable environment by ensuring that our residents’ linens and clothing are fresh, cared for, and handled with dignity.
Requirements
- Ability to follow simple oral directions
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to our mission and values
Nice To Haves
- Previous laundry experience helpful but not required—we’ll train you!
- Working knowledge of commercial laundry equipment a plus
Responsibilities
- Collect soiled laundry, handling it safely to prevent the spread of airborne bacteria
- Follow proper precautions when washing “contaminated” or “isolation” linens
- Sort laundry items by category, wash, dry, and fold according to material type
- Distribute clean laundry to designated areas using laundry carts
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry equipment and carts
- Protect residents’ linens and clothing during the laundering process
