Join Our Team at Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant! We’re currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Laundry Aide to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position will be 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday and every other weekend. Laundry Aides play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and team members by providing efficient and high-quality laundry services. They are responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and personal laundry in accordance with facility policies and Environmental Services standards. What You’ll Do as an LVMG Laundry Aide: Collect, sort, and transport soiled laundry and linens according to facility standards. Operate industrial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently. Select appropriate washing cycles and adjust water temperature valves as needed. Follow proper stain removal and fabric care procedures. Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry and personal clothing to appropriate areas. Inspect garments and linens for damage, report items in ill repair to supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and laundry area at all times. Adhere to safety protocols, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with MSDS guidelines. Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock of laundry supplies. Keep accurate records related to laundry counts and processing. May assist in emergency preparedness, including resident evacuation if necessary. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum of one (1) year of housekeeping or laundry experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred. General knowledge of laundry systems and procedures is essential to maintaining safety, hygiene, and overall resident well-being. Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions effectively. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required. Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties safely and effectively. Requires the ability to stand, walk, turn, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the day, often within confined areas. Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50–60 pounds, including maneuvering heavy carts and operating equipment such as levers, handles, and valves using safe handling practices. Must demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations. Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
