About The Position

Performs general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner and free from offensive odors. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
• Frequently use industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry/housekeeping equipment.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make clean linen available in sufficient quantity for residents’ care and comfort.
• Maintain linen in good repair and remove items with holes or stains from service.
• Collect residents’ laundry daily or as needed.
• Label new residents’ clothing as needed.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to residents’ rooms.
• Follow sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain an inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment and supplies safely.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
