About The Position

The Latter Process Improvement Technician is responsible for maintaining excellent communication with manufacturing supervisors and managers, teaching and training team leaders on proper change-over methods, and performing all change-overs at Continuous Lines, Grinding Lines, and Accessory Lines. This role involves daily follow-up of machine targets and product quality, with a high focus on the quality of safety-related brake products. The technician will lead the grinding wheel re-coat control system, manage powder coating PM and maintenance activities, and control inventory of all powder coating spare parts. They will also foresee potential problems at Continuous Lines, understand and achieve production goals, and troubleshoot all equipment in the Latter Process. Additionally, the technician will control inventory levels for all spare parts at the accessory lines, provide training to line operators, and troubleshoot and maintain all types of printers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years' experience in a manufacturing and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
  • Manages Time and Resources by using tools provided by the Company in order to maximize productivity and to accomplish tasks on time and Tool Management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent communication with the Manufacturing Supervisors and Manager.
  • Teach and train all Team Leaders on proper change-over methods.
  • Perform all change-over at Continuous Lines, Grinding Lines and Accessory Lines.
  • Daily follow-up of machine Targets and product Quality – understanding the deep reasons for under-achievement, work to identify and improve deficiencies.
  • High focus on Quality of our Safety related Brake Products
  • Lead person for grinding wheel re-coat control system.
  • Powder Coating PM and maintenance activities. (Ground wires, Spray heads, all hoses and fittings to remove sticking powder. Entire powder coating system )
  • Control inventory of all Powder coating spare parts.
  • Foreseeing potential problems before they happen at Continuous Lines.
  • Understand the production goals and achieving them.
  • Ability to trouble shoot all equipment in the Latter Process.
  • Control inventory levels for all spare parts at the accessory lines.
  • Providing training to all line operators.
  • Ability to trouble shoot all types of printers and perform maintenance on the printers.
  • Performs all other duties as requested or assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and Manager.
  • Change-over and Set-up of Grinding Lines: Ability to perform change over and set-up of all Grinding machines based on the daily production schedule as directed by the Mfg. Supervisor or Manager, then perform 1st piece checks; by performing preventative maintenance at Powder Coating and Scorching. Have trouble shooting skills for Continuous lines, Grinding lines, Accessory lines and also printers.
  • Change-over and Set-up of all Accessory Lines: Ability to perform change-over and set-up of all Accessory Lines based on the daily production schedule as directed by Manufacturing Supervisor on Manager, then perform 1st piece checks. Develop system for Accessory line change over and jig allocation.
  • Grinding wheel management: Control grinding wheel management system. Maintain grinding wheel allocation. Prepare grinding wheels to be sent out for re-coating, complete necessary paperwork and also communicate with the grinding wheel suppliers.
  • Powder Coating and Accessory Line Spare Parts Inventory: Control all Powder Coating spare parts inventory levels. Control all Accessory Line spare parts inventory levels.
  • Maintain Safety and Quality: By wearing the proper PPE; and supporting the Company’s policies, procedures and attendance. Identify report and or repair unsafe condition on the equipment within the Latter Process. Ensure 1st piece checks are performed correctly. Follow up on operators 3S check system. Verify that operator’s visual inspection method is correct. Improve 5S in all areas within the Latter Process.
  • Alpha Jet Printer setting, maintenance and trouble shooting
  • Assist in corrective action investigation and implementation of countermeasures
  • Initiate and participate in Kaizen activities
  • Complete accessory line changeovers - including auto accessory lines
  • Setup / adjust camera and barcode readers
