About The Position

St. Charles Preparatory School is seeking a proactive and principled individual as Latin Teacher to start the 2026-27 school year. The primary role involves assisting students in mastering skills and information within the school curriculum while fostering their growth in faith and responsibility. Teachers are expected to integrate Catholic teachings and virtues, understand student learning and development, know their subject matter, use varied assessments, plan and deliver effective instruction, create Christ-centered learning environments, collaborate with stakeholders, and assume responsibility for their professional growth.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in English grammar and usage
  • Broad English vocabulary
  • Proficient in the Latin language
  • Extensive experience in reading Latin
  • Previous classroom experience necessary
  • Ohio Education Teaching License, certification grades 7-12
  • Compliance with BCI-background checks
  • Completion of Virtus Protecting God's Children training

Nice To Haves

  • Catholic Preferred but Not Required
  • Experience with Power School or similar SIS desired
  • Experience with Canvas or similar SMS desired
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience working in the educational setting desired
  • Experience in use of collaborative learning models preferred

  • Construct summative assessments.
  • Carry out daily grading and provide timely feedback.

  • Place literacy works in context with world history.
