About The Position

Fisher Catholic High School, located at 1803 Granville Pike in Lancaster, OH 43130, is seeking a full-time Latin Teacher (grades 9-12) for the 2026/2027 school year. The job goal is to assist students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum while helping them to grow in faith and responsibility. Teachers in the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Columbus are expected to know, understand and contribute to the integration of Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum and school culture as it supports faith formation and student learning. They should understand student learning, development, and faith formation while respecting the diversity of students. Teachers must know and understand the content for which they have instructional responsibility, and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure student learning. They should plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student, and create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students. Additionally, teachers are expected to collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators and the faith community to support student development, learning and faith, and assume responsibility for their professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement as an individual and as a member of a Catholic learning community.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.
