About The Position

Marymount School seeks a dynamic, skilled educator to join our Upper Middle School faculty as a Latin Teacher. Beginning in Class VI students elect to study either French, Spanish, or Latin for their Upper Middle School (UMS) years. The expectation of Marymount’s UMS language program is to have students well prepared with the knowledge of language, history, and culture to enter high school level II, and to complete at least one literature-based advanced Latin course by their senior year. We seek candidates with a solid base of knowledge in the history and literature of Latin-speaking cultures. Experience with the reading method of Suburani and/or experience with active Latin is highly valued. Marymount teachers are deeply invested in innovative and engaging teaching and learning. Ideal candidates foster collaborative, student-centered classrooms where discussion, inquiry, and intellectual risk-taking are central. At Marymount, all teachers strive to balance high expectations with deep support, fostering academic excellence and student growth. Beyond the classroom, teachers at Marymount serve as academic advisors and contribute to the broader life of the school by moderating at least one student club or activity.
