About The Position

The Cottonwood Heights Police Department is seeking experienced, POST-certified law enforcement professionals who are committed to serving their community with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. As a Lateral Police Officer with Cottonwood Heights, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and quality of life for our residents while working alongside a supportive and professional team. This position works under the direction of a Police Sergeant and performs a variety of law enforcement duties including patrol operations, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, and other activities necessary to protect life and property within the community.

Requirements

  • Must be POST LEO Certified
  • Must have a minimum of two years of law enforcement experience
  • Must be in good standing at a current agency (if employed) or have retired within the past 2 years.
  • High school diploma, GED, or an appropriate equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver's license or have the ability to obtain one before employment.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
  • Must be able to pass an in-depth background investigation.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference points will be added for Military Service (must provide a copy of the Military Discharge form DD214 at the time of application)
