This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Program Assistant actively engages mentors and leads the program participants to help them build confidence in themselves through enriching activities. Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.
• Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
• An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Responsibilities

• Inspire: Promote and incorporate the YMCA core values and mission into all aspects of the job and community involvement.
• Support: Assist with the setup, delivery, participation, and cleanup of scheduled activities & ensure YMCA equipment is used and maintained according to procedures.
• Connect: Communicate effectively with staff, members, participants, and others as needed for the role.
• Deliver: Follow all safety standards and immediately report concerns to the Program Director or Executive Director.
