First Shift Laser Utility Technician

About The Position

The Utility Technician will work with the laser team to complete multiple tasks within the laser department. This role involves operating machinery, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and handling materials. The technician will be responsible for tasks such as breaking out laser cut parts, operating a Timesaver machine and tumblers, and moving materials with a forklift. A strong understanding of safety protocols and organizational skills are essential for success in this fast-paced role.

Requirements

• Knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Ability to read a tape measure and other measurement tools.
• Basic math skills (ex. addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Basic computer skills.
• Mechanical inclination.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
• Willingness to have performance measured daily.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Breaks out laser cut parts from sheet metal.
• Sets up and operates Timesaver machine (Finishing / sanding machine) and tumblers.
• Operates machinery in a safe manner.
• Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all workstations.
• Operates forklift to move materials.
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
