Summary: We are seeking a reliable Laser Operator to operate CNC laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role involves loading materials, running production, inspecting parts, performing basic machine maintenance, and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

Requirements

Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment preferred.
Forklift experience or the ability to become forklift certified.
Ability to read work orders, drawings, and production documentation.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors and maintenance personnel.
Ability to safely lift materials and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Operate the Bystronic BySmart Fiber 4020 laser cutting machine.
Upload and verify programs for production runs.
Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to prioritize and schedule work.
Load raw material and unload finished parts using a forklift.
Inspect parts for quality and ensure they meet production requirements.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning the machine, shuttle tables, and slats.
Replace worn slats and assist with other routine equipment upkeep.
Monitor machine performance and work with the Maintenance department to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Assist with other production duties as assigned.
