Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Previous shop experience preferred
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift (will train right candidate)
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation skills (will train right candidate)
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work orders
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.

Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules and determine materials needed
  • Read material sheet tags and determine material types and gauges
  • Match part(s) with corresponding travelers
  • Move part(s) with travelers to next operation, meeting assigned due dates
  • Keep work environment clean, safe and orderly
  • Meet and maintain quality and performance expectations including efficiencies and productivity standards
  • Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy
  • Operate forklift and other equipment using all safety precautions and regulations
  • Identify areas for process improvement, cost and waste reduction
  • Communicate and work well with other departments and team members regarding accurate and timely completion of projects
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Manage time efficiently
  • Respond positively to constructive feedback
