About The Position

The Laser Operator/Programmer is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to cut and engrave parts and products according to specifications. This role involves inspecting parts to ensure they meet customer expectations, troubleshooting issues, and potentially programming the laser cutting machines. The position also includes performing routine maintenance, keeping accurate production records, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma/ GED
2 years of experience in CNC Programming
Ability to operate laser machinery
Attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to read tape measures and use calipers
Ability to convert fractions to decimals
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of safety practices
Experience in the manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

Prepare and operate laser cutting machines
Ensure quality of finished parts
Perform regular routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser machines
Program and optimize laser cutting processes
Select and adjust materials
Check and inspect finished parts
Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work
Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Plant Manager
Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities
Participate as an active member of the production team
Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System
Follow detailed instructions, processes and procedures
Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
